North Fort Myers man accused of placing child in chokehold for several seconds

A North Fort Myers man faces child abuse charges after security footage inside a home captured him grabbing a child by the neck while they were asleep.

Dominic Fisher, 28, faces two counts of aggravated child abuse.

Surveillance footage shared by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office showed Fisher entering the child’s bedroom during their sleep, grabbing them by the neck and putting them in a chokehold position for several seconds.

In a news release posted to their Facebook page, the sheriff’s office said they expect the child will make a full recovery.

Further details of the arrest were not available by publication.

Fisher remained in custody by publication without bond set. His arraignment is Sept. 29.
