New year, new look: Sporting Club Jacksonville reveals soccer uniforms for 2025

For Sporting Club Jacksonville co-owner Fred Taylor, the exact shades in the uniforms are a little different from his running back days 30 years ago.

But the former Florida Gators legend already loves the thought of his new team wearing some blue and orange for their debut.

“I believe their boldness speaks volumes about everything that Jacksonville stands for, and I can’t wait to see our fan base rocking them one day in the stadium,” Taylor said.

Surrounded by hundreds of fans in the shadow of the Main Street Bridge, Sporting Jax rolled out its new uniforms for its inaugural professional soccer campaign during a festival on May 13 at Friendship Fountain.

Tristian Adams and Georgia Brown, from the Sporting Jax clubs at League Two and W-League levels respectively, stepped forward through the smoke to reveal the new look.

Following the pattern of the club’s logo, the Adidas-manufactured uniforms nearly matched the background bridge in their sky blue, with white and orange trim.

“It’s an amazing color and I think it just looks great when you see the players modeling it,” said Stacey Balaam, head coach of the women’s team due to kick off in the USL Gainbridge Super League.

In addition to Sporting Jax’s Super League women’s soccer team, which kicks off in August at UNF’s Hodges Stadium, and the USL Championship men’s soccer team, which targets a 2026 start, similarly-styled uniforms will also appear throughout the club.

That includes the Sporting Jax developmental academy and its now-active teams in the USL League Two and W-League, which compete outside the U.S. Soccer Federation’s professional pyramid. Those clubs field mostly college athletes who play during the NCAA off-season while retaining their eligibility.

The direct link from those leagues to the professional game brings encouragement for players like Brown, named top defender last year in the W-League while with Florida Elite Soccer Academy prior to the clubs’ merger.

“That’s something really exciting, not just for me, but for all the younger girls as well, having something to be able to look forward to and strive toward,” she said.
