WILDWOOD — A new Wawa is opening in Wildwood at 5945 E. County Road 462 on Aug. 14.
The new gas station convenience store will feature a grand opening celebration with free coffee and the return of the $5 “Big Breakfast Deal.”
In 2018, Wawa was voted America’s favorite sandwich shop in Market Force Information’s annual survey of nearly 11,500 consumers.
Which new Wawas are opening this month in Florida?
The store is one of three Wawas opening in Florida in mid-August. The other two are opening in Ocala and Jacksonville.
Will there be a grand opening party?
Yes. The first 100 customers can score free T-shirts. Hot coffee will also be served for free.
What will happen when the store opens?
Festivities start at 7:45 a.m. with Wawa General Manager Laurie Wood doing the honors of counting down to when the doors open for the very first time at 8 a.m., giving away T-shirts to the first 100 customers, while supplies last, and free any-size hot coffee through Aug. 17.
A program after the ribbon cutting kicks off with a parade of Wawa associates, known as “Craving Tamers,” introducing the return of the retailer’s popular $5 Big Breakfast Deal campaign, which includes any Sizzli, any size hot or iced coffee, and a crispy hash brown for $5. The ceremony concludes with Wawa’s Hoagies for Heroes competition.

Who will be in charge of the new Wildwood Wawa?
The store’s leadership will feature Nancy Dulaney at the helm as director of store operations, Joshua Patro as area manager and Laurie Wood as general manager.
