New details emerge in Daytona shooting at South Turn bar that left 3 injured

New court documents show that a Daytona Beach man thrown out of a bar on June 20 came back asking for the person who insulted him and then fired a semi-automatic handgun 17 times into the entrance of the establishment hitting two men and a woman.

The shooting occurred at the South Turn Lounge and Restaurant at 1540 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach at 10:48 p.m. on June 20.

In a Daytona Beach Police report filed with the court, witnesses reported that Anthony Kaznakoff, 28, had been drinking at the bar when he became belligerent, and was escorted out of the establishment. He kicked over a trash container on his way to a white pickup, but soon returned to the entrance of the bar and said he was looking for the individual “talking (obscenity)” to him, his arrest report shows.

Kaznakoff was again asked to leave. He walked away, but then drew a firearm from his waistband, turned and fired 17 times at the entrance of the business, police said.

Three victims, Tyler Greene, Anthony Medel, and Ciara Miller, were hit by bullets and were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, police said.

Kaznakoff then fled from the scene in his pickup, which was later located in the 1100 block of St. Augustine Road. Witnesses told police that Kaznakoff parked the vehicle and left on foot, the arrest report noted.

Police made contact with Kaznakoff by telephone, and with the help of his family who encouraged him to surrender, took him into custody, investigators said.

After he was arrested, Kaznakoff made several comments about the shooting including saying “I shot people,” that he used a Glock 19 pistol, and asked whether any of the victims had died, police said.

Kaznakoff was being held without bail in the Volusia County Branch Jail on Thursday, July 3. He was charged with three counts of attempted felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit felony, aggravated battery, and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
