NASCAR Cook Out Clash postponed again due to historic snowfall

NASCAR will wait two more days.

After postponing its preseason Cook Out Clash from Sunday to Monday earlier this weekend, the race will now move to Wednesday, Feb. 4, due to historic snowfall in North Carolina. The National Weather Service reported Winston-Salem, where host Bowman Gray Stadium is located, received 8-10 inches of snow Saturday.

The announcement came Sunday afternoon.

“This event is for the fans, and the fans at The Madhouse are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports,” Justin Swilling, project lead for the Clash, said in a press release. “Moving the Cook Out Clash to Wednesday, Feb. 4, gives us the best opportunity to hold this event with fans at Bowman Gray Stadium while allowing the City of Winston-Salem to dedicate all of their resources to respond to the needs created by this historic weather event.”

NASCAR Clash schedule updated again due to weather

Cup Series practice and qualifying will take place at 1:30 p.m. and stream on the Fox Sports app. The 75-lap Last Chance Qualifier will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The Clash itself is set for 6 p.m. on Fox.

The field will include 23 cars — 20 from qualifying, the top two finishers from the Last Chance Qualifier and the driver who accumulated the most 2025 points that did not otherwise qualify.

Winston-Salem weather forecast for Wednesday race

So what’s the Wednesday forecast looking like?

The NWS lists a 40% chance of precipitation, but it would be rain, not snow. The high temperature will reach near 43 degrees.
