NAS Pensacola, Corry Station gates closed in potential lockdown

Gates onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola and Corry Station are closed, according to a base social media release.

In an X post, NAS Pensacola said its gates are closed, along with the Corry Station Annex. Although the release did not provide any information as to why the gates are closed, social media and local residents are claiming the base is under lockdown.

Residents who live near Corry Station, the cyberwarfare training location at NAS Pensacola, reported hearing alerts over speakers saying there could be “potential threat to the installation,” and users on Facebook are claiming they heard speakers on both areas of the base say the installation was under lockdown.

The News Journal reached out to NAS Pensacola regarding the potential lockdown, but NAS Pensacola officials declined to confirm or deny an installation lockdown.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more details.
