WALTON COUNTY − A 27-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on June 25 on U.S. 98 at Sandy Cay Drive. According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, here’s what we know:
When did the crash happen?
June 25 at approximately 9:21 p.m.
Where did the crash happen?
U.S. 98 and Sandy Cay Drive.
What vehicles were involved in the crash?
A pickup truck and a motorcyle.
Who was involved?
A 27-year-old man from DeFuniak Springs was riding the motorcycle. A 72-year-old man from West Monroe, Louisiana, was driving the pickup. He had one passenger, a 55-year-old woman from West Monroe.
How did the crash happen?
According to the FHP, the driver of the motorcycle was westbound on U.S. 98 in the inside (left) lane, riding at a high rate of speed. The driver of the pickup truck also was westbound on U.S. 98, in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle collided with the rear of the pickup truck.
