The Miami Dolphins are letting kicker Jason Sanders and fullback Alec Ingold go in salary cap moves, a league source confirmed.
Sanders was one of the best kickers in the NFL before sustaining a hip injury in the preseason and missing all of last season. In 2024, he converted 26-of-28 extra points and 37-of-41 field goal attempts. For his 8-year Miami career, he was 259-of-268 on extra points (96.6 percent) and 187-of-221 in field goals (84.6 percent) with a long of 57 yards.
The release of Sanders will save $3.91 million against the cap.
Riley Patterson did an excellent job replacing Sanders in 2025 and is a free agent again this offseason. He was 34-of-35 on extra points and 27-of-29 on field goals his lone season in Miami.
Ingold played 66 games for the Dolphins, was a Pro Bowler and a team leader.
The move will save $3 million against the salary cap.
