Miami Dolphins predictions for game against Buffalo Bills point to long day for Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins move into the second half of the 2025 NFL season hosting the Buffalo Bills.

After dropping their first two games to the Colts and Patriots – obviously both better than preseason pundits thought – the Dolphins played the Bills on “Thursday Night Football” in Orchard Park. Miami played Buffalo tough, falling 31-21.

Since that September game, a couple of things have changed – General Manager Chris Grier was fired and replaced by Champ Kelly. And edge rusher Jaelan Phillips was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

But many things are still the same – and that isn’t good news with the Bills coming to town. Buffalo looked good in defeating a hot Kansas City team last week while the Dolphins are still stinging from their “Thursday Night Football” loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Tua Tagovailoa remains the Dolphins’ quarterback but sometime in the next two months we will get to see if rookie Quinn Ewers is his eventual replacement.

For now, sit back, relax and check out our predictions:

Joe Schad – Bills 31-14

The Bills are dominant on offense and very good on defense. Buffalo has the NFL’s top rushing offense and, oh yeah, Josh Allen. Joey Bosa has four sacks for Buffalo and will be a problem. Miami’s only chance is a Bills’ letdown. But this is an organization that typically smells blood in the waters.

Hal Habib – Bills 42-10

The Bills are coming off a win over the Chiefs while the Dolphins, well, you know, were flogged by the Ravens. Then came the beginning of the reset, including the end of the Chris Grier regime. Now picture Josh Allen and those tight ends attacking that Miami defense. Picture Joey Bosa vs. Miami’s OL. And Bosa and A.J. Epenesa teeing off on Tua Tagovailoa. Bills fans will be the only ones left in the stadium by game’s end.

Tom D’Angelo – Bills 38-10

Josh Allen has thrown 40 TDs with just 8 interceptions vs. the Dolphins. The Bills have regained their swagger with two straight wins, including their annual regular-season victory over the Chiefs that was crucial to reverse their annual postseason loss to the Chiefs. The Dolphins have sunk to a six-year low, firing the GM and starting a soft tank by trading assets for draft picks. This feels like a Bills’ pick-your-score game so I’ll do it for them.

Nick Pugliese – Bills 28-10

You didn’t think I’d pick a Dolphins upset again, did you? The Bills have too much going for them – including their annual regular-season victory against the Chiefs – and they know it’ll be a two-team race with the Patriots for the AFC East title. Look for Josh Allen to pick apart the woeful Miami secondary and Joey Bosa and the pass rushers to feast on the weak Dolphins offensive line.
