Miami Dolphins camp observations, joint practice with Commanders

ASHBURN, VIRGINIA ― The Miami Dolphins are holding a joint training camp practice against the Washington Commanders on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

First-year coach Jeff Hafley and the Dolphins will face the Commanders in their preseason opener on Friday, Aug. 14, in Landover, Maryland.

Hafley addressed a small group of South Florida reporters before practice.

Hafley has promised more physical practices and wants badly to have a more physical team.

Fans have been focused on quarterback Malik Willis, running back De’Von Achane, guard Kadyn Proctor, wide receiver Caleb Douglas, defensive lineman Zach Sieler, linebacker Jordyn Brooks, cornerback Chris Johnson and linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.

Zach Sieler injury update; Malik Willis to play vs. Commanders

Miami Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said defensive tackle Zach Sieler is week to week and obviously will not participate here in Virginia/Maryland this week. The particulars are undisclosed at this time.

Hafley said the plan as of now is to play quarterback Malik Willis in the preseason opener against the Commanders on Friday night, Aug. 14.

Hafley said anyone who throws a punch in practice today will be ejected.

We expect to see 1-on-1s, 7-on-7 action and 11-on-11 action.

Defensive tackle Zach Sieler missed Miami’s last practice.

Josh Uche and Willie Gay did not finish the Dolphins’ last practice.

Hafley said Uche will return.
