Texas A&M footballis continuing their dominance in Florida, adding the No. 1 overall player in the state Mark Matthews to their 2027 class with a verbal commitment on May 15.
Matthews (6-foot-6, 320 pounds) is a consensus 5-star and top tackle prospect in the country. The St. Thomas Aquinas standout named the Aggies over the Miami Hurricanes.
He is the top player in the Florida Top 100 football prospects for the 2027 class.
The Aggies have been productive in the Sunshine State this cycle, and now hold from No. 1 and No. 2 overall players in the USA TODAY Florida Top 100. IMG EDGE Zyron Fortsall named Texas A&M in March.
Texas A&M is also still in on other marquee names in Florida, including IMG WR Eric McFarland III (No. 4) and Tampa Jesuit LB Kaden Henderson (No. 6).
