The League of Women Voters of Polk County will hold an event called “Everyone Deserves a Second Chance” on Oct. 7 at The Well, 114 E. Parker St., in Lakeland. The gathering is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The organization will provide background information on the challenges faced by those who have served prison terms for felony convictions when they try to get their rights to vote restored.
