The annual Polk County Baseball Tournament is going on this week at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale. Eighteen county teams are participating in this year’s event.
Teams have been split into three divisions based on rankings. The top group is the McCutcheon Group, followed by the Sale group and the Mancini Group. The tournament began on Monday with pool play being held through Wednesday, and the championship games for each of the three divisions is slated for Thursday.

Monday’s Highlights
Lakeland Christian 7, George Jenkins 0
Carson Martin pitched allowed just one hit in six innings and struck out six to lead Lakeland Christian. Parker Kant double and drove in three runs to lead the offense.
Santa Fe Catholic 6, Mulberry 5
Angel Andujar singled and drove in three runs to lead the Santa Fe Catholic. Hudson Link singled and drove in a run. Nic Partridge went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Mulberry, and Griffin Cline went 3 for 3 with an RBI and run scored.
Lake Wales 22, Victory Christian 11
Levi Cutts had three hits, including two doubles, drove in two runs and score four times to lead the Highlanders. Dereke Robinson went 2 for 3 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. For Victory, Braylon Mitchell went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Landon Cuzzone went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
Lakeland 7, Winter Haven 5
Carter Maslyn went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, and Edrick Ayala went 1 for 4 and drove in two runs for Lakeland.
Auburndale 6, Lake Gibson 3
Jacob Bolin doubled and drove in a run to lead Auburndale. For Lake Gibson, Angel Fundora had two hits and drove in a run.
Ridge Community 11, Frostproof 0
For Ridge, Omir Santos doubled with two RBIs, and Julian Crespo singled and drove in two runs. Deniel Serrano and Jan Quintero combined on a four-hit shutout.
