Johnny Wilson is looking to take a step in his second season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he may have just suffered a setback. The former FSU wide receiver was forced to exit practice and was carted off the field on Tuesday, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic.
Wilson has had a strong training camp with the Eagles and has played plenty during their preseason. The 6-foot-6, 228-pounder has caught three passes for 73 yards, averaging 24.3 yards per catch.
He was at his best as a blocker for the Eagles last year, using his size to help their running game. He appeared in 20 games last season, finishing with five receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown as they won the Super Bowl. The Eagles took him in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft.
Wilson spent the final two seasons of his career with FSU after starting his career at Arizona State. He started 23 games in Tallahassee, catching 84 passes for 1,514 yards and seven touchdowns. He made the All-ACC Second-Team in 2022 and Third-Team in 2023.
