The music of Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven is on the Jacksonville Symphony’s 2025-26 schedule, of course, but so is that of Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, John Williams and Super Mario.
The symphony announced the new season on Tuesday. Current season ticket holders have until June 16 to renew their subscription. Single tickets to symphony performances will go on sale July 10. Performances will be held at Jacoby Symphony Hall in downtown Jacksonville.
The first performance on the new season schedule is Video Games Live on Sept. 19, with the symphony and Jacksonville Symphony Chorus performing music from video games.
Highlights of the season include:
The symphony will also continue its Coffee series of matinee performances and the hourlong after-work Symphony in 60 series, along with organ and jazz series.
Guest performers on the schedule include pianists Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung, Conrad Tao and Joyce Yang. Guest conductors include Case Scaglione, Anna Rakitina and Giordano Bellincampi.
There are still a handful of programs to be played on the symphony’s 2024-25 schedule. “Cirque of Ice and Fire,” featuring aerialists, contortionists and other circus performers alongside the symphony, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Jacoby Symphony Hall. The symphony also has Mozart, a ballet performance featuring dancers from the Florida Ballet and Jacksonville Dance Theatre, a night of hits from ’80s ladies and a season finale of Gershwin and Copland.
