A raid Friday at Wacko’s Gentleman’s Club in Jacksonville led to the arrest of an 18-year-old dancer accused of shooting a gun during a fist fight the previous day in Orange Park, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
Ava Rae Mooring of Middleburg was arrested Friday night on three counts of attempted murder and remains jailed on $750,000 bail, jail records state. She was picked up as part of the unrelated raid at the Emerson Street club where several other arrests were made.
About 9 p.m. the night before, Mooring was watching two women fight behind Academy Sports at 661 Blanding Blvd., cheering before pulling one off the other, according to her arrest report. One witness recorded some of the fight on a cellphone.
“The defendant pulled a gun from her waistband and fired two shots in the air,” the report said. “She then yelled she was going to shoot everyone and fired another shot into the ground.”
A man and two women ran to a car, and more shots rang out as they drove off, one piercing the windshield and a headrest, the report said.
