Charlie Woods had a solid front nine going on Friday, April 17 on Day 2 of the Terra Cotta Invitational, but a bogey on the final hole left him with a 1-under for the day
Woods, a junior at the Benjamin School and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, shot a 71 in the second round for a two-day total of 6-over 150 at Naples National Golf Club in Naples, Florida. West Palm Beach’s Guiseppe Puebla, a University of Florida verbal commit and the No. 4-ranked junior golfer in the AJGA Rolex Rankings, and Tallahassee’s Parker Bell are tied for the lead at 9-under 135.

Woods started on the back nine and finished even with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. He started the front nine with a bogey on No. 1 but got below par for the day with birdies on No. 2, 4 and 8 before finishing with a bogey on No. 9 to sit tied for 57th in a field of 72 golfers heading into the final round on April 18.
This year’s field is among the best in the 30-year history of the Terra Cotta Invitational, which is ranked among the top amateur events in the nation. Past champions include nine-time PGA champion Matt Kuchar (1997), whose son Cameron is playing in this year’s tournament, and former world No. 1 golfer Justin Thomas (2010).
