GPD: Two children killed in two-vehicle crash on Williston Road in Gainesville

Two children under 2 years old were killed July 10 in a two-vehicle crash on Southwest Williston Road, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

July 10 at 6:08 a.m.

On Williston Road at the intersection to the on-ramp for northbound Interstate 75.

Crash details

According to Art Forgey, the public information officer for the Gainesville Police Department, a 49-year-old Williston man was traveling east on Williston Road in a 2013 Nissan van. At the same time, a 28-year-old Gainesville woman was headed west on the same road. For unknown reasons, the vehicles collided at the intersection to the on-ramp for northbound I-75.

The Gainesville woman suffered “incapacitating” injuries. Two children in her vehicle — a 5-month-old and a 22-month-old — died in the crash. The Williston man suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
