The No. 19 Florida State Seminoles lost to the Miami Hurricanes 28-22 Saturday night in Doak Campbell Stadium. It is their second straight loss, and they are now 3-2 overall and 0-2 in ACC play.
Miami had a 28-3 lead in the fourth quarter before the Seminoles scored 19 straight points to make it a one-possession game with 50 seconds left to play. They were unable to recover the onside kick and give themselves a chance to win the game.
The Seminoles turned the ball over three times in the game, which Miami turned into 14 points to build their lead. Carson Beck had an excellent performance, completing 74% (20-27) of his passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney led them with seven receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
FSU finished the game with a season low in points (22) and yards per play (4.9). They were unable to run the ball, finishing with 38 carries for 132 yards and zero touchdowns. It is the first time they have not rushed for 200 yards and three or more touchdowns this year.

FSU was unable to make any progress in the third quarter as Miami took control of the game and is routing the Seminoles 28-3 in Doak Campbell Stadium ahead of the fourth quarter. FSU’s offense has turned the ball over three times and is averaging 4.5 yards per play.
Miami has found plenty of success through the air with Carson Beck completing 86% (18-21) of his passes for 238 yards and four touchdowns. Malachi Toney leads them with seven receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seminoles will be without starting safety Ashylnd Barker, who they ruled out on the pregame injury report. Running back Roydell Williams and defensive lineman Kevin Wynn are both listed as game-time decisions. FSU will be without seven total players, and Miami will be without 10.
