FSU remains the leader for key RB target as commitment date approaches

Florida State was able to land 2027 four-star running back Jayden Miles about two weeks ago. However, they want more talent in the backfield, and three-star recruit Marquis Fennell is a key target for them in that regard.

After he received a scholarship offer from the Seminoles in January, Fennell took trips to FSU on three occasions, with the latest being an official visit on June 5. He has set his commitment date for June 25, and according to Chris Nee of Noles247, Florida State is the leader as his decision approaches.

Fennell is a dynamic weapon with skills as a runner and a receiver. He registered 1,480 yards on the ground and scored 23 touchdowns as a junior, averaging 8.2 yards a carry. As a pass catcher, Fennell gained 764 yards on 53 receptions and added 10 more scores.

FSU has the lone prediction to land Fennell, which came just days after his official visit earlier this month. Much like four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune, who commits the day before Fennell, this is a recruitment that the Seminoles need to close.

Fennell is the nation’s No. 627 player and the No. 39 athlete per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Georgia, he’s the No. 76 prospect.
