Florida State had a huge month of June as they added eight commitments to their 2027 recruiting class. There is still one major target in the cycle for the Seminoles that remains uncommitted, and that’s four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole out of Macon, Georgia.
FSU hosted Poole for an official visit on June 12, and he ended up canceling his official visit with the Miami Hurricanes that was supposed to take place on June 19. The Seminoles received four predictions to land Poole shortly after he left Tallahassee, but the Georgia Bulldogs made a strong final push and replaced the Miami official visit with one to Athens.
This has made for a fierce battle down the stretch to see who will ultimately land Poole’s commitment. A decision is expected very soon, and Steve Wiltfong of Rivals gave an update on the latest surrounding the situation. He still feels that Florida State is the favorite to land Poole once he makes his choice.
Florida State is the Rivals Prediction Machine favorite for the Peach State defensive back who has also strongly considered Tennessee with Georgia turning things up at the end of the summer.
Poole is the No. 75 prospect in the country and the No. 5 safety in Rivals industry rankings. He’s also listed as the No. 6 recruit in the state of Georgia.
The Seminoles were able to land their top four prospects in June, but a commitment from Poole would make him their highest-ranked pledge in the 2027 class so far. It would also give FSU quite a dynamic duo at safety for the cycle, with three-star Jemari Foreman and his ball-hawking skills having already shut down his recruitment.
Florida State needs to continue its momentum on the recruiting front, and a commitment from Poole would give the 2027 class a significant boost.
