Avelo Airlines is adding nonstop routes to Texas from four different Florida airports, starting in November, with one-way fares starting at $99.
On June 30, Avelo announced new commercial service at McKinney National Airport (DTX), about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, with flights to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW), Orlando (MCO), Tampa (TPA), and Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS). The flights will operate on 184-seat Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 jet aircraft, the company said.
“For Florida travelers, this new service offers a convenient, affordable way to reach one of the country’s fastest-growing regions without the hassle of navigating larger, more congested Dallas-area airports,” Avelo founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in an email. “Combined with our everyday low fares, the ease and convenience of flying through McKinney National Airport, and our industry-leading on-time performance, these routes deliver a travel experience our Customers will love.”

The Houston, Texas-based carrier recently announced four new nonstop flights between Florida airports and North Carolina and Puerto Rico.
Avelo, known for operating out of smaller airports, currently flies to eight destinations in Florida, including Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Orlando, Tampa, and Sarasota. In November, the carrier will begin flights to Key West.
