FSU making strong push for elite in-state quarterback

2028 four-star quarterback Brady Quinn is a hot commodity on the recruiting scene. The Chaminade-Madonna High School star has around 30 offers with programs like the Michigan Wolverines and Oklahoma Sooners getting involved during the spring and summer.

Florida State extended an offer to Quinn last October. He made one appearance on FSU’s campus last March for an unofficial visit. Despite not having a lot of in-person interaction, the Seminoles have been in constant constant with Quinn throughout his recruiting process.

Per Blake Alderman of On3, Florida State is on a shortlist of schools that are recruiting Quinn heavily.

“A bunch of schools have been reaching out since June 15, but some are stronger with their communication than others. I’d say the schools that are doing the best consistency-wise are UCLA, SMU, Florida State, Florida, and Purdue, probably. I don’t have any leaders or a favorite right now. They’re just the schools that are recruiting me the hardest right now.”

When it comes to taking game visits this fall, Quinn doesn’t have anything scheduled at the moment. However, the plan is for him to take some in-season visits this fall, and FSU is one of the schools he wants to see.

“I’m probably going to get to those five schools I mentioned, but I don’t have anything set yet. The in-state schools, like Florida and Florida State, should be easy to get to. I want to get to UCLA, SMU, and Purdue, but they’re farther away, so I have to plan it all out,” said Quinn.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has had back-to-back productive seasons in high school. He threw for 2,549 yards and 33 touchdowns to just nine interceptions while completing 55.7 % of his passes as a freshman. He was even better as a sophomore as he completed 60.4% of his passes and amassed 2,960 yards and 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. Also, Quinn gained 275 yards and scored four touchdowns on the ground.

Quinn is the No. 284 overall player and the No. 18 quarterback in Rivals industry rankings. He’s listed as the state of Florida’s No. 36 prospect as well.

The Seminoles are firmly in the mix for Quinn, and they’ll need to keep their communication and efforts of landing him consistent throughout the season.
