Florida State has accumulated some nice talent in its 2027 recruiting class. One of the key positions they haven’t hit yet is running back, and they have one of the best in the cycle on their radar.
Landen Williams-Callis got a scholarship offer from FSU back in May of 2024. Despite no reported visits to Tallahassee at the moment, Williams-Callis has named Florida State one of his top ten schools per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, SMU Mustangs, Indiana Hoosiers, Houston Cougars, and Missouri Tigers make up the rest of his list.
Although he hasn’t been on campus yet, Williams-Callis got to spend time with running backs coach Kam Martin back in January. He hit the road and visited Williams-Callis at Randle High School in Richmond, Texas.
It was a season for the ages for Williams-Callis in 2025. He racked up 3,502 yards (ran for over 100 in all 16 games) and scored 59 rushing touchdowns, plus he also gained 266 yards on 24 receptions as a pass catcher and added one more score. Williams-Callis helped the Lions go 15-1 and make a state title game appearance. For his efforts, Williams-Callis was named the Gatorade Texas Player of the Year and the MaxPreps Texas Player of the Year.
His junior campaign wasn’t the only big year for him on the high school level. Williams-Callis ran for 1,944 yards and 23 touchdowns as a freshman, and then 2,108 yards and 43 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Williams-Callis is the No. 45 overall player in the country and the No. 3 running back per Rivals’ industry rankings. He’s also the No. 8 prospect in the state of Texas.
Now that they are one of his top schools, Florida State needs to set up an official visit with Williams-Callis.
