The No. 6 Florida State Seminoles are looking to even the season series against the No. 3 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia. It is nearly time for the first pitch from Russ Chandler Stadium between the two best teams in the ACC

FSU (24-8, 9-3 ACC) is looking to respond after losing Game One 4-3 after taking an early 3-0 lead. The Yellow Jackets ended the game with a double play, tagging Chase Williams out at home to prevent FSU from tying it up in the top of the ninth inning.

Georgia Tech (28-5, 13-3) is on a 10-game winning streak and was able to grind out at-bats against FSU’s pitchers. Wes Mendes needed to throw 114 pitches in 5 1/3 innings, and John Abraham threw 55 in two innings.

FSU is 81-52 all-time against Georgia Tech, including 31-25 on the road. Georgia Tech is looking to win back-to-back home series against the Seminoles, something they can clinch with a win on Friday.

The solo home run from Eli Putnam was all FSU managed in the seventh as two quick flyouts and a strikeout ended. Both of FSU’s runs have come on homers.
