Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann accused of violating probation, arrested

Naples Police arrested Mayor Teresa Heitmann a year after violating her probation in a drunken driving case.

Heitmann, 62, on Feb. 16 pleaded no contest to one count of DUI with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or higher stemming from her Aug. 28, 2024, arrest. She was sentenced to one year of probation, which included not consuming alcohol and subjected her to random screenings.

Court documents say that on March 26 Heitmann tested positive for cannabinoids. She was rearrested April 20.

Collier County Jail records indicate Heitmann remained in custody the morning of Tueday, April 21. City officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
