Four-star FSU linebacker target commits to SEC program

The FSU Seminoles had a great month of June on the recruiting trail, landing 12 commitments and being named one of the winners of the month. July did not have as good of a start as four-star linebacker target TJ White committed to the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday.

It is a tough loss for the Seminoles, who have been recruiting him since December of 2024, and he was one of their top linebacker targets. They hosted him on multiple visits this year, including an official visit on June 6. Even worse, they just missed out on five-star target Xavier Griffin, who committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide last week.

White is the No. 113 overall player and No. 7 linebacker in the 247Sports composite rankings. The Jackson product is also the No. 5 player from Mississippi. He would have become their highest-rated commit had they landed him.

While missing on Griffin hurts, the Seminoles have two linebackers committed: Karon Maycock and Noah LaVallee. Both are three-star prospects that linebackers coach John Papuchis prioritized. They will also have several more chances to add a blue-chip linebacker to their 2026 recruiting class, which currently has 20 members. DQ Forkpa and Rodney Colton Jr. will both make their commitments in July, and the Seminoles are finalists for both.
