A 49-year-old pedestrian died when a car collided into him on the Interstate 75.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling north on Interstate 75, approaching Daniels Parkway, on Thursday, June 26, at approximately 10:28 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Fort Myers man, who was involved in a crash in the same area, was walking across the northbound lanes of the interstate when the driver’s vehicle hit him.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reports at least 52 road deaths in Lee County in 2025, five of them pedestrians.
