Four-star safety Jaylen Scott has had an interesting recruitment, but the talented prospect is once again making progress towards a commitment, which will be his third. He initially committed to the FSU Seminoles last January before flipping to the Auburn Tigers in June.
He ended up backing off that pledge in December when they fired their head coach. Despite already decommitting from the program, Mike Norvell’s staff never stopped recruiting the 6-foot, 165-pounder, and on Friday, he named them one of the final five schools in his recruitment.
He is also considering the Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Oklahoma Sooners, and Tennessee Volunteers. He discussed the news with Tom Loy of 247Sports and admitted he still loves the Seminoles.
“I committed there for a reason,” he explained. “I love everything about that school.”
Scott is ranked as the No. 153 overall player and No. 16 safety in the 247Sports composite. The Mobile native is also the No. 5 player from Alabama.
The Seminoles and safeties Evan Cooper have done a great job recruiting the safety position in the 2027 recruiting cycle, already having four-star prospect Mekhi Williams and three-star prospect Jamari Foreman committed. Williams is FSU’s highest-ranked commit, and adding Scott back to the group would give them arguably the best safety class in the country.
