Florida State powered its way back into the ACC Championship game Friday, run-ruling Stanford 9-0 in five innings at Palmer Field. This will be the 28th time the Seminoles will appear in the title game.
The Seminoles wasted no time at the plate, scoring five runs on four hits across the first two innings. Ashtyn Danley led the surge with RBI singles and finished with a game-high three RBIs, while Jaysoni Beachum added two more.
Isa Torres and freshman Mackenna Sturgis each went 2-for-2 as Florida State maintained steady offensive pressure. The Seminoles broke the game open in the fourth inning, plating four consecutive runs to trigger the run-rule victory.
Freshman Bella Dimitrijevic earned the win in the circle, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four over four innings. Danley came on in relief to close out the game.
Florida State advances to the ACC Championship game against Virginia Tech on 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
