2027 three-star safety Karnell “Greedy” James has been committed to the Texas Longhorns since December. Despite this, Florida State has him as a target, and they made him a scholarship offer on Tuesday.
“Blessed to receive an offer from Florida state university. #AGTG,” James wrote on social media.
James has around 30 offers on the table from some of the top schools in the country. Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida, Notre Dame, and more have also extended offers to the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder.
Rivals’ industry rankings have listed James as the No. 439 player nationally and the No. 40 safety. In the state of Texas, James is the No. 60 ranked prospect.
He’s coming off a very productive junior season at Manvel High School. James finished with 53 tackles, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery (returned for a touchdown).
James has an official visit locked in with Texas on June 19, which is the final weekend for summer visits. It would behoove FSU to get one sometime before then.
