Florida State offers nation's top CB prospect

Florida State has been very adamant about getting a head start on the 2028 recruiting class. As of Thursday, they have entered the sweepstakes for five-star cornerback Nasir Richardson out of Newark, New Jersey.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder announced that FSU has extended him a scholarship offer. His offer list is full of top-tier programs such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Michigan Wolverines, Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks, and more.

“Florida state university !!!,” Richardson wrote on social media.

It was an impressive sophomore season for Richardson as he amassed 35 tackles (26 solo), two tackles for loss, and four interceptions for Malcolm X Shabazz High School. He was a stud as a wide receiver as well, with 14 receptions for 369 yards and five scores.

Richardson is one of the top players in the entire country in the 2028 cycle. He’s the No. 8 recruit nationally and the No. 1 cornerback per 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 1 prospect in the state of New Jersey.
