Florida State was in play for three-star edge prospects Katrell Webb and Chris Addison. They ended up with the Purdue Boilermakers and Michigan State Spartans respectively, leaving FSU in a bind at edge.
This has caused a shift in focus. The Seminoles have gone to the SEC to try and snatch an edge that is already committed. It’s three-star DeAnthony Lafayette who announced the offer via his social media. FSU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton extended the offer to Lafayette.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pounder is the No. 503 player nationally and the nation’s No. 49 edge according to 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 73 prospect in the state of Florida.
Lafayette had a monster junior season. He registered 73 tackles, six tackles for loss, 40 quarterback hurries, 17.4 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles for Lake Nona High School in Orlando per MaxPreps.
It’s only been a week since Lafayette committed to LSU. So, it would behoove them to set up a visit quickly.
