An Indian River County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a crash on the morning of May 22, said sheriff’s officials.
A two-vehicle crash involving a sheriff’s vehicle occurred about 7:40 a.m. at Oslo Road and 58th Avenue Southwest, south of Vero Beach, said sheriff’s Lt. Kevin Jaworski.
The deputy driving the sheriff’s vehicle was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce as a trauma alert, Jaworski said.
The other driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
All lanes of Oslo Road were blocked after the crash, Jaworski said, and tow trucks loaded both vehicles just after 8 a.m.
The cause of the crash was under investigation. No further information was immediately available, including the name of the deputy.
