Florida football is back in action after the Gators had an open week.
UF (1-3, 0-1 SEC) will host No. 7 Texas at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Gators enter the matchup on a three-game losing streak, while the Longhorns (3-1) have rattled off three straight victories and most recently recorded a 55-0 win over Sam Houston State.
The headline name for Texas is quarterback Arch Manning, who has thrown for 888 yards, nine touchdowns, three interceptions and run for 123 yards and five scores. The Longhorns feature the No. 2 scoring defense in the country. UT has only allowed 211 yards per game, which ranks No. 4 in the nation.
UF quarterback DJ Lagway has tossed for 690 yards, six interceptions, five touchdowns and has completed 67% of his passes. Notably, Florida’s defense ranks No. 22 in the country in total defense and No. 24 in scoring defense.
