Florida football suffered its first loss of the season after falling to USF 18-16. The Gators will now go on the road to face No. 4 LSU in Baton Rouge, La. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Despite UF putting up 355 yards in total offense, the Gators could only get in the end zone once, while the defense surrendered 391 yards to the Bulls. Quarterback DJ Lagway was 23-for-33 and passed for 222 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
LSU opened the season with a top 25 win over Clemson. The Tigers most recently come off a 23-7 victory over Louisiana Tech. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has thrown for 469 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and completed 54% of his passes this season. Nussmeier’s top target has been Aaron Anderson, who has hauled in 14 catches for 172 yards.
