Florida football is already dealing with a string of injuries with multiple players appearing to be out for its game against Long Island University on Saturday, Aug. 30.
The Gators will be without redshirt sophomore wide receiver Aidan Mizell and true freshman Dallas Wilson, who were both in street clothes and not involved in the pregame warmups. Mizell recorded 17 catches for 202 yards and two touchdowns last season. Wilson, who was later seen wearing a boot on his left leg, had 10 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns in UF’s spring game.
The Gators are also without defensive tackle Caleb Banks, who is dealing with a lower leg injury. The redshirt senior recorded 21 tackles, seven TFLs, four sacks and two forced fumbles in 2024.
Redshirt freshman cornerback Jamroc Grimsley, true freshman cornerback Ben Hanks III and sophomore defensive end LJ McCray were also not dressed out.
