The Florida men’s basketball team has officially started its summer workouts, with the entirety of the Gators’ roster on campus in Gainesville.
The offseason could not have gone better for Todd Golden and the Gators, retaining four starters, Boogie Fland, Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu and Alex Condon. With the nation’s best frontcourt returning intact, the Orange and Blue will be looking to make another championship run this season.
A little over a week into summer workouts, the Gators decided to unveil the new jerseys for the upcoming season. The Gators’ lone offseason acquisition, Denzel Aberdeen, had departed to join the Kentucky Wildcats after winning a title with Florida in 2025 and is still seeking his fifth year of eligibility from the NCAA. He will wear No. 1 — the same number he wore with the Wildcats — if his waiver is granted.
A.J. Brown, the Gators’ redshirt senior who wore No. 23 a season ago last season, has switched his number to No. 3, previously worn by now-departed center Micah Handlogten. His return to No. 3 matches the number he wore at Ohio University prior to transferring to the Gators ahead of the 2025-26 season.
This offseason, the Gators also added a trio of freshmen, Jones Lay and Arturas Butajevas, along with 22-year-old forward Domen Petrovic. Lay, who was Florida’s only addition to the roster during the early signing period back in Nov. 2025, will make his Gators debut in No. 13.
Petrovic will continue to wear No. 19, the same number he wore last season for GGD Sencur. Though the 22-year-old forward is participating in summer workouts, there has yet to be clarification on how Petrovic will be classified next season.
Completing the list is Butajevas, who will wear No. 25. Butajevas previously wore No. 11 while competing with Lithuania in FIBA U18 Eurobasket.
