For shoppers who have called the Fort Myers Publix located in the Daniels Crossing Plaza “their neighborhood grocery store”, the wait is over.
A new version of the popular grocery store chain at 6900 Daniels Parkway opened at 7 a.m. today (Sept. 11) after being closed for remodeling since June 2014.
A complete transformation of the 48,387 square-foot store took place over the last 14 months. During that time people who live in that part of Fort Myers had to adjust and find other Publix locations to buy their food and other life essentials.
Once inside the new Publix, most will likely agree the inconvienence and wait was worth it.

The remodeling included adding a second floor or “upstairs eating area” for customers that has a Starbucks or coffee shop vibe. You can even use a microwave to heat up any food you purchased at the store.
This store also offers departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce as well as a full-service bakery, deli, pharmacy and an adjacent Publix Liquors, which is news.
