FHP searching for semi-truck driver involved in fatal hit-and-run with pedestrian on I-75

Law enforcement is searching for the driver of a semi-truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash with a pedestrian on June 15 near the Williston Road exit on Interstate 75, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

June 15 at about 8:55 a.m.

Where did the crash happen?

Southbound I-75, just north of the Williston Road exit (382).

The FHP release

According to the release, witnesses reported seeing the right side of a semi-truck with a black cab and white trailer hit a pedestrian who was walking along I-75. The semi left the scene, the release says.

The pedestrian — a 45-year-old Gainesville man — suffered fatal injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at 352-372-STOP (7867).
