A 21-year-old Wakulla County woman suffered serious injuries when she rolled over a golf cart she was driving that carried four children.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 5:15 p.m. on May 27 on Parkside Circle, in a housing development off of Spring Creek Highway, just outside Crawfordville.
The four children riding in the golf cart, aged 9–12, all were reported as having minor injuries.
Here’s what happened: The woman drove the golf cart off the roadway, hitting raised pavers around a flower bed on the shoulder, an FHP news release said.
It then struck a mailbox and overturned, pinning the driver underneath. All of the children were ejected from the cart. (The FHP does not name crash victims in news releases.)
No further information about the wreck was available as of 9 p.m., according to Master Corporal Patricia A. Jefferson-Shaw, a spokesperson for the FHP.
