A motorcyclist died in a crash Thursday, March 5, on High Bridge Road in northeast Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It appears to be the first fatal crash involving a biker during Bike Week 2026.
The crash occurred about 4:04 p.m. on High Bridge Road east of Walter Boardman Lane, the FHP reported. It involved a 2025 Harley Davidson Heritage motorcycle.
One motorcycle rider has been pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
