We are diving into some fantasy football content this offseason as we look to bring in all sorts of football fans to Bucs Wire. It is arguably the most popular game that is around football, so not dipping our toes into the proverbial pool wouldn’t make sense.
What we will start with is some rookie profiles, and where they fit into the landscape of the team they were drafted by. Next up, New York Jets wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.

Reason to Believe in Omar Cooper Jr. in 2026: TBD
Omar Cooper Jr. is a tough one to sort through ahead of training camp, if we are being honest. He is going to have to carve out a role to see if he plays above Adonai Mithcell, though he absolutely should. Closer to the season, fantasy players will determine whether to believe in him in 2026.
2026 Outlook
Having Geno Smith at quarterback is good for the Jets, but it is very much up in the air for everyone else. It is hard to gauge how much Cooper will be used in the offense, especially as a rookie, so he could be avoided in re-draft. In deeper leagues, he is worth a stash in case someone gets injured, or Smith shows he can support more than just Garrett Wilson in the pass game.
