Isa Torres is heading home.
After entering the transfer portal last week, the former Florida State superstar announced on social media Tuesday evening that she will play her senior season at Texas, returning to her home state to join the Longhorns.
Fresh off one of the most decorated junior campaigns in Florida State history, the Georgetown, Texas native now takes the next step in her career with a program aiming for a third consecutive Women’s College World Series title.
While Torres’ time in Tallahassee has come to an end, her legacy is firmly cemented in the Seminoles’ record books.
The reigning D1 Softball Player of the Year delivered a historic 2026 season, posting a .530 batting average — ranking among the top 15 marks in NCAA history. She added 16 home runs, 56 RBIs, and 78 runs scored, while also setting an NCAA record with hits in 16 consecutive at-bats — the most ever without an out.
Torres was equally dominant in the field. She did not commit an error during the regular season and finished with a .989 fielding percentage. Her defensive excellence earned her ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors, along with the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
Over three seasons at Florida State, Torres compiled a .439 career batting average, tallying 261 hits, 49 doubles, nine triples, 34 home runs, 158 RBIs, and 186 runs scored.
Now, she returns to Texas with an opportunity to close her collegiate career where it began — and potentially help the Longhorns, a team she grew up rooting for, continue their championship run.
