Florida State has a long list of visitors for its season opener against the Alabama Crimson Tide. That list has expanded as of Thursday.
Four-star running back Amari Thomas was once committed to FSU. However, he decommitted in July and then made his pledge to the South Carolina Gamecocks earlier this month. Despite this, he’ll be in Tallahassee this Saturday when Florida State kicks off the 2024 season against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Before Thomas committed to South Carolina, he was still very high on FSU.
“I still believe in Florida State,” Thomas told Rivals. “They should have a good season. I try to talk to the coaches there, they have great people inside the building.”
A competitive showing versus Alabama, whether it results in a win or not, will certainly help Florida State’s case in trying to flip Thomas back to the program.
Thomas is the nation’s No. 438 player and the No. 28 running back per Rivals’ industry rankings. The 5-foot-10, 178-pounder is the No. 62 prospect in the state of Florida as well.
