DoorDash Flavor Fest expands restaurant discounts to Florida cities

It’s time to find your new favorite local restaurant at a big discount. DoorDash is expanding Flavor Fest, its online restaurant-week type of event, to six new cities, and two of them are in Florida.

“Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Tampa are some of the greatest food cities in America, places where local restaurants don’t just feed people – they define the culture,” said Brian Cramer, Head of U.S. Markets at DoorDash in a release.

“And every single one of them has incredible local spots that deserve more customers supporting them, especially this summer. Flavor Fest is about showcasing and supporting these local champions that make these cities so special.”

Order food through DoorDash

The program showcases the best of each city’s neighborhood restaurants. And to encourage hungry diners to check them out, they’ll get 30% off orders of $15 or more from participating restaurants from Aug. 6 through Aug. 23.

DoorDash is also bringing back its Order Local Challenge, which rewards customers for supporting multiple local spots by offering 40% off or more on their next order from a local restaurant.

How does the DoorDash Flavor Fest work?

Open the DoorDash app and look for the Flavor Fest section to find participating restaurants.

During the week of Aug. 6 through Aug. 23, you’ll get 30% off orders of $15 or more, up to $8.

DoorDash will fund about half of the savings on each order, and the restaurant will cover the rest, according to Nation’s Retail News. DoorDash is investing $6 million, the company said.

Flavor Fest launched in the Washington, DC area earlier this year with $700,000 from DoorDash and more than 300 local restaurants. Nearly 200,000 residents tried it out, DoorDash said, and the local spots “saw significant week-over-week lift in orders.”
