Dolphins will reportedly host Commanders in Madrid

The Miami Dolphins’ home game in Madrid, Spain during the 2025 season will reportedly happen against the Washington Commanders on Nov. 16, according to Spanish sports newspaper Diario AS.

While early rumors linked the Cincinnati Bengals to that matchup in Spain — which had Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow excited — more recent rumors have pointed toward the Commanders. While the report from AS is the most concrete proof yet, the official confirmation will come Tuesday morning when the NFL announces its international slate of games for the 2025 season on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The Dolphins and Commanders have played 14 times in the regular season and met in a pair of Super Bowls. While Miami came out on top in Super Bowl VII, it was Washington that won the rematch a decade later in Super Bowl XVII. The Dolphins have a 9-5 lead in the regular season matchups with three wins in their last four meetings, including a 45-15 win in 2023.

The Commanders reached the NFC Championship in the 2024, led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, who earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

The Week 11 game in Madrid will be held at Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid.
