Dolphins rookie Trey Moore carted off with leg injury vs. Giants

The Miami Dolphins lost a rookie draft pick to an injury in the first quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Giants.

Linebacker Trey Moore, a fourth-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2026 NFL Draft, was helped off the field with an apparent left leg injury after he collided with Giants quarterback Jameis Winston in the exhibition’s first quarter.

Replays showed Moore landing awkwardly on his ankle after leaping into Winston during a pass rush. He laid on his back after the injury and was seen with his hands on his helmet before leaving the field with assistance.

He did not put weight on the leg as he was helped off the field by trainers. Moore was later carted into the locker room.

The Dolphins allowed Winston to scramble for an 11-yard touchdown on the ensuing third down play to give the Giants an early 7-0 advantage at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Dolphins selected Moore out Texas with the 130th overall pick in this year’s draft. The rookie linebacker/edge rusher signed a four-year rookie contract worth $5.42 million.
