Dolphins make generous donation for relief efforts in Venezuela

The Miami Dolphins have been one of the most philanthropic organizations in professional sports since Stephen Ross bought 95% of the team from 2008 to 2009, often giving considerable amounts to worthy causes around the world.

That trend continued on Monday, as the team announced that they’re donating $100,000 through the Miami Dolphins Foundation to assist in the relief efforts in Venezuela following the earthquakes that rocked the country last week.

“Venezuela needs our help,” the team wrote in a memo. “They are in desperate need of resources following the devastating earthquakes. The Miami Dolphins Foundation is donating $100,000 to assist in relief efforts. Please consider joining us with a donation or by bringing supplies to an official GEM drop-off location. CNN reported on Monday that the death toll has surpassed 1,700, while the Wall Street Journal reported that over 50,000 people are still missing amid the devastation.
