DL target explains what he needs to see ahead of official visit to FSU

The Florida State Seminoles will he extremely busy over the next month as official visit season is in full effect. This weekend, they’ll have one of their key targets on the defensive line in the 2027 class, three-star Eric Vaulx, on campus for an official visit.

This will be the second visit for Vaulx to Tallahassee since his scholarship offer from FSU back in March (he took an unofficial visit in April). He broke down what he’ll be focusing on in terms of the Seminoles’ approach to landing him.

“I’m looking forward to bonding with the coach and the players, getting comfortable with them,” Vaulx told Warchant. “The main goal is, ‘Do I feel like this is home?’ And that’s for all the other schools as well.”

After Vaulx visits Florida State this weekend, he has several more visits that he’s taking this summer. He’ll take official visits to see the Missouri Tigers on June 12 and the Tennessee Volunteers on June 19. Also, he’ll take a visit to see the Auburn Tigers.

Since his last visit, Vaulx has established a good relationship with Seminoles’ defensive line coach Terrance Knighton. In fact, he mentioned that their bond goes beyond the football field, which is certainly a good thing.

As he gets set to make a return to Tallahassee this weekend, Vaulx explained what Florida State needs to show him to position themselves even better in his recruitment.

“For FSU to put themselves on top, they’ll meet my expectations for relationships,” Vaulx said. “I’m big on that.”

His junior campaign was a productive one. Vaulx amassed 75 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery for Lake Cormorant High School.

Vaulx is the No. 795 overall prospect and the No. 79 defensive lineman per Rivals’ industry rankings. He’s also listed as the No. 21 recruit in the state of Mississippi. FSU wants more talent on the defensive line to pair with four-star edge Anthony Cavallaro in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
